What I particularly like about this unit is the fact that it can be completely powered via the USB port no wall-wart power supply to contend with. Edirol, who has been in the controller game longer than most, have clearly aimed it at the computer musician who wants to slip this thing into a backpack along with a laptop and go. I was pleasantly surprised by the keyboard feel but I never could get used pcr-,1 the mod and pitch bend controls.
Additional - just looked up the invoice from Sweetwater - I've only had this board since January 17th.

Please accept our apologies. You can dump the layouts to and from ekyboard computer or maybe directly to another of the same controllerallowing you to archive layouts or move them to another controller. Nice small footprint, ample controls, and decent keyboard action. I've had it about 6 months.

The overall build quality is excellent, although the unusual design of the pitch-bend and modulation controls takes some getting used to. That where any written description is applied to goods, the goods match that description. It has a total of 27 assignable controllers 8 double-duty knobs, 6 buttons, and 2 pedal ports controllerr, as well as 15 user-assignable memories to hold various midi control maps, so you can remote control certain features of your favorite software sequencer or virtual instrument it comes with control maps for Sonar Cubase, GS, and XG already loaded The knobs pcr--m1 great enjoyable.
The only problem with the Kontrol49 is it's footprint is a little large for my patio table, plus I really need 61 keys minimum since I'm limited to one controller outside.
The four buttons alongside the rotary encoder can be used to set MIDI channel, select banks, change programs, and other common operations. Another scenario comes to mind. However for the same money I could grab the EMU Xboard 49, which feels great, has full-sized keys, edjrol has just as much control as the Edirol.

Was this information helpful to you? Less than 90 days. With a touch closer to a traditional keyboard would have been perfect or near me. Cons Keys feel a bit clunky.

Fortunately, this is made relatively easy with the inclusion of some plastic overlay templates and a software editor. This past Christmas one of my "Santa" gifts was a Cabasa I've been using M-Audio products for nearly three cohtroller all purchased thru Sweetwater and I am totally satisfied with the price and performance I put the cot without 9 "honing" not marked on the box.
